Karin oversees the Agency day-to-day operations and general management function at Breakaway. With 20+ years of agency and corporate marketing experience, she leans heavily in to the Client Services and Strategy teams. Most recently she was the head of Global Marketing for Consumer Products at Jabra, an international sound and audio products brand. Prior to that, Karin has led Global and North America marketing efforts for consumer brands in the active lifestyle/sporting goods and CPG categories – focusing on Marketing Communications planning, integrated strategy and execution across owned, paid and earned initiatives. She is a graduate of Indiana University.
Ted leads Breakaway’s marketing group and business development efforts. Prior to joining Breakaway, Ted spent over 15 years driving integrated marketing initiatives for his own award-winning agency, Crunch Brands. Crunch successfully positioned and grew brands like UNREAL Candy, Sperry Top-Sider (through exit) and The Pan Mass Challenge. Prior to Crunch, Ted worked in Boston and New York at Arnold Worldwide, Digitas and Greco Ethridge Group. Ted graduated from the University of New Hampshire.
Dan leads the creative on many accounts at Breakaway. During his 10-year career he has been fortunate to build some of the most influential campaigns beginning at David+Goliath where he created a Super Bowl commercial for Kia that rocketed the launch of their mid-size sedan into the company’s #1 selling vehicle in just one month. Soon after, he made the move to the East Coast. At MullenLowe he spent 5 years shaping JetBlue’s brand into a human focused airline, growing it to become one of the most popular brands of this century. Since then, he has collaborated with other great brands as Creative Director while at Arnold, Fidelity, and Breakaway. When he’s not making influential campaigns, Dan is usually found with a fly rod in his hand or chasing one of his four kids around the yard.
Mark leads the video content creation department at Breakaway. Prior to joining Breakaway Mark was Senior Editor/DP at Arnold Worldwide for more than 15 years. Working with brands such as Titleist, Ocean Spray, Jack Daniels and New Balance to name a few. Mark has worked closely with Tom Brady on several UNREAL candy holiday initiatives. He previously exclusively directed/shot/edited Dropkick Murphys music videos and shares a Directing credit with Martin Scorsese for Dropkick Murphys/The Departed collaborative music video for Shipping Up To Boston. His independent video work has racked up over 100 million views on YouTube.
Donna leads all of the print and digital production at Breakaway. In Donna’s 20+ years, her experience has spanned many industries including retail, sportswear & athletic shoes, banking, medical, food and beverage as well as insurance and real estate. When not working, Donna enjoys skiing with her two boys, as well as hiking, biking, watching Boston sports and relaxing at the beach whenever possible.
Liam is a Senior Designer and a 5-tool player that is capable of tackling any project thrown his way. Prior to Breakaway, he began his career at Crunch Brands after graduating from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University. Liam is a member of Breakaways illustrious cat club and can also be found on the courts balling throughout Boston.
As an Account Director, Celia leads day-to-day client relationships and keeps the train on the tracks for her accounts. Prior to joining Breakaway, Celia worked at Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles, managing the development and execution of integrated campaigns for Toyota vehicle launches and media partnerships. Celia is an Emerson College grad, New Hampshire native, and obsessive dog mom.
Alex is a Senior Designer, painter, cyclist, and awesome playlist creator. Prior to Breakaway he was a Brand and Interactive Designer at Korn Design, where he worked on brands in the luxury hospitality and real estate markets. He Graduated from Mass College of Art and Design with a BFA in Graphic Design.
As a Senior Account Manager, Jenna runs the daily client activities for several Breakaway accounts including Tishman Speyer and Wasabi. She also supports the overall Account Management team. Prior to Breakaway, Jenna spent four years with the Cleveland Browns. While she was patiently waiting to get the look from coaching to hit the field, she was managing national and local sponsorship accounts across various industries, including apparel, hospitality, insurance, legal services & technology. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling & spending as much time outside as New England allows. Jenna is a native Long Islander and graduated from Quinnipiac University with a BA in Communications.
Leading research initiatives and insights development, Leif uncovers hidden opportunities to develop clients' business and brand strategies that are simultaneously unique within the market and compelling to the target customer. He was previously a member of the Global Customer Marketing team at Facebook. He also helped lead the strategy groups at Digitas and Arnold Worldwide, where he partnered with some of the world’s most iconic brands like Progressive Insurance (“Flo”), Holiday Inn, and ADT. Leif graduated from Harvard with an A.B. in Psychology & Economics, and earned his MBA from Stanford. When he’s not brand strategizing, Leif can be found shredding on lead guitar in the 90s alt-rock cover band Shirley Prison Riot.
Tyavanna is Breakaway’s HR & Finance Manager and brings over 7 years of management and human resource experience to the company. She received her BS in Communications from Salem State University where she majored in Public Relations and minored in Marketing. Tyavanna literally and figuratively holds the keys to everything inside the company. When she is not covertly fueling the office’s candy addiction, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Malcolm is a Jr. Designer at Breakaway and our resident Swiss army knife. He supports the creative team working on photography, design and videography. Malcolm also assists with in-house and on-location shoots for our clients. When he isn’t using our studio for photo shoots he’s in the recording studio with his friends creating content for their record label.
Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio (a fact he’ll happily tell you, if his t-shirts haven’t already), Adam is an alumni of both The Ohio State University and The Creative Circus. He has nearly ten years of experience as a creative for brands like athenahealth, Pepsi, HP and Verizon. Adam’s in charge of delivering great ideas with headlines to match. When he’s not crafting copy, you’ll find him drawing cartoons, playing tennis or seeing a concert.
